The dates for our biannual trip to our friends at the Blau Weiss Club in Werne , Germany have been finalised Friday July 24^th to Friday July 31^st 2009 . We shall be flying to Dortmund and the cost is expected to be about £100. This opportunity is open to everyone in the club, the people who go are not an exclusive group and we do welcome new faces. To date the party comprises of 2 families of 4, fathers and sons, brothers, husbands and wives and singletons and you do not even have to play tennis! I hope you’ll find this newsletter useful. Please do let us have your comments and suggestions on it and any other Club matter. This committee will listen to you. The Club Chairman, Alan Cantor, on 01253 724472 would be very pleased to hear from you, as would other Committee Members, a full list of whom is in the foyer. The new Committee is considering the short and long term future of the Club and is trying to establish if there is support for any development which would move the Club away from its current site. A postal vote was sent in October to all full members to determine if there is such support .

Any new facility would remain a private members’ club in Lytham St Annes and would have to be free from financial burden in order to keep the membership fees at around similar levels to current ones. Any new site development would be unlikely in the near term as land prices have declined recently and we would expect there would be a need to find sources of significant grant aid if we were to move forward on any such venture. In the meantime we are committed to maintaining and developing facilities on our present site

TENNIS

CLUB SESSIONS

Tuesday night club sessions for all members, will continue in the winter under the floodlights

We are trying to establish tennis club sessions for adults on a Saturday afternoon (2pm – 5 pm) and for juniors (5.15pm – 6.15pm) WEATHER PERMITTING-

RACQUETBALL

Members can hire out from the bar 2 rackets and a ball at a cost of £1 per session .

Our annual exchange week with the Blau Weiss tennis club in Werne has been arranged for July 2009. We shall be departing during the weekend of July 24^th. Any member who wishes to join the party, would be most welcome and should contact Orelle (01253 711050) for more information

2x 17 year old girls from Werne are seeking accommodation in January for two and a half weeks, whilst they carry out work experience in a children’s nursery. They are willing to pay £10 per day for their board and keep. Please contact Orelle if you can help
